Kaysersberg

Kaysersberg is a small town and commune, located in the Haut-Rhin département, in Alsace. It is considered one of the most beautiful cities on the wine route, with its high fortress dominating the city, serving as a reminder of its strategic importance and warlike past. In the present days, this city has a medieval atmosphere, being the best setting for an Alsatian Festival. It is considered one of the finest wine growing areas in Alsace, the first vines were brought there around the 16th century, from Hungary. There's an old well made of stones in the town that has an inscription, this inscription advises you to drink wine with dinner and stay out from water :)

Colmar

Colmar was founded in the 9th century and it is a town and commune of Alsace. It's a  well preserved old city that centers houses and large scale buildings in German gothic and Renaissance style, we can find a large number of old churches, like the Saint-Martin from the 13th-16th century, which is the largest and most important. In the 15th century, the local artist Martin Schongauer, painted his masterpiece, The Madonna of the Roses, in Colmar's Eglise des Dominicains (Dominican Church).

Alsace

Alsace is located on the eastern border of France, on the west bank of the Upper Rhine and is adjacent to Germany and Switzerland. It was part of the Holy Roman Empire and in the course of the 17th century was slowly put under French sovereignty and made one of the provinces of France. It has many forests like the Haguenau Forest and several valleys are found in the région. Its highest point is the ballon de Guebwiller with 1426 m. This region is very famous for its wines and beer brewing.
