Louvre Museum
The Louvre Museum in Paris is not only the oldest and most visited museum in the world, but also the most famous museum regarding art, human history and culture. The building was previously a royal palace, now holding many of the world's most prestigious works of art, including the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci and the Venus de Milo by Alexandros of Antioch. The building dates from 1190, and holds the record of 8.3 million visitors in 2006.
